These terms and Conditions set out the basis on which we accept orders for goods ordered by means of distance communication. By ordering in this way you are deemed to have understood and accepted these terms.
“Distance communication” means communication without the simultaneous physical presence of the supplier and the customer e.g. by letters/ emails/ telephone conversations/ website orders. For the avoidance of doubt these terms will not apply in cases where any part of the contract has been negotiated or concluded face to face, for example by the customer visiting the showroom. Or where the customer has inspected samples of the goods prior to ordering.
None of the terms and conditions below will affect your statutory rights as a customer.
Making a purchase
The order clearly shows the products being supplied, quantity and price and where applicable with delivery and VAT included in the final price. All prices displayed include VAT.
Offers and Sale items
Are all subject to availability and can be removed without notice.
We offer free delivery on all orders above £750 including VAT
All orders for doors under £750 incur £39.99 charge
We offer free delivery on orders for door hardware above £400
All orders for door hardware under £400 incur a £7.99 charge
Free delivery is subject to our standard terms and conditions of trade and the delivery address is within our standard delivery areas and our normal delivery dates. We will notify the customer if their address is outside of our standard delivery area.
Product Images and Product Information
All product images are for general illustration of product type only. As wood is a natural product, visual variations in texture, grain, and colour are inevitable. All transactions are entered into on the understanding that the photographic image of a product is not precise and subtle differences are inevitable.
The product information and prices on this website are as accurate as possible but the customer accepts that Data errors and mistakes can occur, and agrees not to hold A Wood Idea and any third party updating or maintaining the website liable for any losses arising as a result of relying on any details displayed on our website.
Payment
A Wood idea accept most Major UK Debit and Credit cards GBP cheques. Bank transfer payments. The customer is responsible for any Bank transfer costs. All goods must be paid for prior to delivery.

By sending this purchase order confirmation email, this is an offer to process your order on the terms contained within the email, including these terms and conditions.
A contract for the supply of goods is formed between you and A Wood Idea once we have confirmed the order can be fulfilled and payment has been received.
Delivery & Delivery Charges
The delivery service is being supplied under a separate contract and the Delivery cost is shown separately. For your convenience we will give you a total amount required in respect of supplying the goods and performing the delivery service which can be paid together.
What is an unfinished door?
Now that you know what a prefinished door is, it won’t be too difficult to figure out what is meant by an unfinished door. It is essentially a door that is designed to be finished by or on behalf of the end user/customer. Only wooden doors require a finish, so it offers additional flexibility and customisation if you would like a door in a specific colour.
While unfinished doors allow you to have some freedom with your purchase, it can be quite tricky and time consuming if you are finishing the door yourself. All unfinished doors are pre-sanded and an oil or an oil based paint is chosen. The process usually requires a rub down, slight sanding and then an application of several coats as well as a top coat to finish the door off. Ideally this should be done while it’s lying flat as it significantly helps build an even coating and avoids potential spills and drips.

Time of Essence
A Wood Idea shall not be liable for any losses as a result of not delivering at the indicated time. Time shall not be of essence unless agreed in writing.
All Deliveries are to the nearest accessible kerbside and it is the customers responsibility to have adequate able bodied persons available to arrange movement of the goods from there.
Failed Delivery
All transactions are entered into on the understanding that the customer will be present and able to accept delivery of the products at the specified address on the date of delivery. If delivery fails because the customer is not present or is unable to accept delivery to the specified delivery address on the date of delivery an additional charge may be made by A Wood Idea to cover the cost of repeat delivery – PLEASE SEE DETAILS OUTLINED IN ‘DELIVERY’ SECTION
Inspection upon delivery
It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the goods at the time of delivery. Unless the goods are rejected at the point of delivery, and valid reasons for the rejection are communicated to A Wood Idea, the customer will be deemed to have accepted the goods and confirmed that they are in good condition when delivered – PLEASE SEE DETAILS OUTLINED IN ‘DELIVERY’ SECTION
Your right to Cancel
14 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
All of our orders have a 14-day money back guarantee as standard. If you change your mind, just return your items unused, in its original condition within 14 days of receiving it and we will either exchange it or give you a full refund.
If in the unlikely event that you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, please email info@awoodidea.com, stating your order number, what items you wish to exchange or cancel and the reason.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.
If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within 7 days depending on your card issuer’s policies.
You are responsible for the cost of returning your item/items back to us. The goods must also be returned by a reputable carrier to minimise the risk of damage. If the products have been received or dispatched to you, and it is your intention to cancel, then the goods should not be unpacked on arrival and must be returned on the original pallet for protection.
The item is your responsibility until it reaches us, for your own protection we recommend using a service that allows insuring the goods.
In the unlikely event that an item/items is deemed faulty, you must notify us by email at info@awoodidea.com within 24 hours of receiving the goods detailing the problem including any images.
We do not offer a returns policy on special order products unless they are deemed faulty.
Please be aware that these conditions are only applicable to purchases made online.
No orders can be returned 30 days from invoice date.
Exceptions to the right to cancel – Special Orders
The right to cancel will not apply in relation to goods that are ‘special order’ for example goods that are made to your specifications, or personalised, i.e. specific cut sizes of timber sections, special finishes or products specifically ordered on your behalf, or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned. If goods you have selected are deemed to be ‘special order’ we will make you aware of this before the order is confirmed.
